Abstract

A web-based platform is use to streamline service operations by integrating service scheduling, queue management, and inventory tracking into a single digital system. The aim of this study was to create a web-based application to facilitate smooth process of service scheduling, queuing and inventory that would streamline and modernize the performance of a salon as an alternative to manually scheduled events and scheduling the process on Facebook that would be more efficient using a digital platform. The system was designed with the help of Prototyping Model that gave a possibility to acquire feedback and refined the system in the process of working with it. Developed using newer web technology frameworks, including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, BeautyEase incorporated some important elements like online booking of appointments, queuing management (real-time), managing inventory, automated personnel scheduling, computer-based notifications, and administration dashboard that provided general management. The platform had three key user categories, salon administrator, who managed the services, schedules, queue, and inventory, salon staff, who managed and saw assigned appointments, and customers, who could easily make, manage, and cancel appointments through the platform. According to the assessment of the salon employees, customers, and information technology specialists, the system was extremely admirable with regards to usability, functionality, and the quality of the interface. The results were that BeautyEase had a positive impact on the accessibility of customer services and better operational reliability. The study recommended comprehensive adoption of the system, which should be followed by improvement of the system in the future that can involve encrypted online payment options, live chat features and frequent service provider maintenance to facilitate reliable operation of the system.
