Abstract

Job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and employee performance are critical factors that influence the success and effectiveness of organizations. In the field of higher education, the interplay between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance of faculty members presents several areas of concern and gaps that needs to be filled in. Understanding these relationships is vital for higher education institutions to develop strategies to improve faculty satisfaction, commitment, and performance. Improving faculty satisfaction and commitment can lead to better student outcomes, enhanced organizational performance, and increased competitiveness in the education sector. Therefore, studying the nexus between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance of faculty members is essential for higher education institutions to maintain and enhance their educational competitiveness. Utilizing a descriptive research design, data were collected from 31 faculty members through a structured questionnaire adapted from Quelnan (2018). Findings reveal that 40% of respondents are aged 31-40, with a majority being male (53%) and married (53%). Most faculty members hold a salary grade of 12 (60%), and 43% possess Master’s degree units or complete degrees. Overall, job satisfaction is rated high, particularly in job description and interpersonal relationships, while satisfaction with salary benefits is moderate. Faculty performance is outstanding in areas such as job knowledge and work management, with IPCR ratings classified as very satisfactory. Significant relationships were found between demographic factors (sex and salary grade) and job satisfaction levels, as well as a strong correlation between job satisfaction and faculty performance. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing faculty satisfaction and commitment to improve educational outcomes and institutional effectiveness, providing valuable insights for higher education administrators.
