AbstractThis study aimed to identify training gaps among Barangay Police Officers through a survey. Four hundred and three (403) officers from 38 Barangays participated. Data was collected using a questionnaire. An ANOVA was performed to test differences in training needs. The survey revealed that the following training and seminar needs of Barangay Police Officers were: crime prevention and public safety, Barangay Police Officer operations and other judicial processes, gender-sensitive Barangay Police Officers, basic emergency and rescue responses, and information drives against all forms of crimes. However, in the two areas, namely, the Use of equipment or gadgets and information drives against all forms of crimes were moderately needed. Age groups had specific training needs, with significant differences in areas such as Barangay Police Officer Operations and Information Drives against Crimes. Other factors such as marital status, level of education, years of service, and length of stay also influenced training needs. Improving the knowledge and skills of Barangay Police Security Officers will enhance their ability to maintain peace and order in the community. Therefore, it is recommended that specific training programs be developed and implemented to address the training needs of barangay police officers. The College may choose them as their adopted barangays for community engagement activities or services.
